． Periodic calibration
Calibration instruments must use standard gas certified by the measurement department that matches the gas being measured. Other indicators should comply with the requirements in the corresponding national metrology verification regulations. The calibration period generally does not exceed one year. Otherwise, the sensitivity of the combustible gas detector will be reduced, the service life will be shortened, and the instrument will even lose its detection function.
． Regular inspection
For instruments with self-test function, the self-test button should be pressed once a week to check whether the indicating and alarm system is normal. Perform a visual inspection once a week to check the connection parts, movable parts, displays and control knobs. Check the fault light. Explosion-proof seals and fasteners, check whether the probe is blocked, check for waterproofing, etc. The author believes that it is inappropriate to directly use the lighter gas to contact the detector probe to test the reliability of the instrument. This can easily lead to damage to the gas detector probe, reduced sensitivity or malfunction of the detector.
． Installation location
The height of the installation location of the combustible gas alarm should depend on the density of the gas being measured. The detector probe should be installed above the leak point for gases being measured that have a density greater than air. The gas detector probe should be installed below the leak point and about 1.5 meters above the ground. If the density of the gas to be measured is similar to that of air, the detector probe should be as close to the leak point as possible. The installation height of the open-air probe should also be selected based on the density of the gas being measured. Special attention should be paid to the fact that the detector probe should be installed on the downwind side of the dominant wind direction. After the detector probe is installed and debugged, a breathable and waterproof cover must be installed to prevent rainwater from entering and damaging the probe. The breathable and waterproof cover should be cleaned regularly to ensure that the gas being measured normally enters the detector probe.
